PRACTICAL AGENT SHOPPING
How to find websites that work with AI agents
Choose a website using the exact agent, task evidence, test dates, and limitations—not a blanket compatibility promise.

Start with the task you need
An agent-friendly website is one that an AI agent can use for a particular task through ordinary browser or computer interaction. The useful question is specific: can this agent find a product, choose an option, add it to a cart, or complete an authorized transaction?
AgentShopMap is a directory of merchant websites with community compatibility reports. A merchant does not need an API, MCP server, or special integration to be listed. The presence of a listing alone says nothing about whether an agent has successfully used it.
Narrow the directory to a relevant match
Use the directory to compare evidence that matches your intended trip through a website. A browsing result can be useful even when there is no purchase report.
- Search for a business or browse its category. Use the region filter when a merchant has supplied service-region information.
- Choose the specific AI agent. Results for one agent do not establish results for another.
- Use reported outcome, task stage, report count, and recency filters to narrow the list. A successful cart report is not evidence of a completed purchase.
- Open a merchant profile and read “What can an agent do here?” Check each task you need instead of relying only on the overall summary.
Read the count and date alongside the status
The compatibility dashboard separates supported tasks, partial or inconsistent results, reported blocks, reported failures, and unknown tasks. Unknown means the directory has no sufficient evidence for that task; it is not a negative test.
One recent, approved conclusive report can produce Medium confidence. That is an early community signal, not independent certification. Read the report count, date, region, agent version when supplied, and any human assistance before deciding how much to rely on it.
Newer evidence has more weight. Conflicting successes and failures remain visible in the task details. A sponsored placement is labeled and does not change any compatibility result.
Give your agent a bounded assignment
Specify the website, product or service requirements, allowed actions, and the point where the agent should stop for approval. Keep credentials in the agent’s approved credential flow, not in public report text.
If the website presents a CAPTCHA, access restriction, or prohibition, stop or use an authorized human handoff. Record what happened rather than trying to bypass the control. If a listing is untested, a short report about just one observed task can help the next visitor.
Compatibility can change. These guides explain how to use reported evidence; they do not certify any merchant or agent.
